Burgundy, Followed By Class (Workwear)

Yesterday was a fun little retro throwback day, so it only makes sense that today I would completely go the opposite direction and work this perfectly classic burgundy dress.  Urgh I know you guys are probably sick of seeing this damn coat but it's such a staple that I promise this will be the last outfit with it for a while and I will show off some of my less-friendly, but a lot more interesting coats in the upcoming weekend.  This actually one of the recent pieces my mom (thank you for being such a constant style icon and inspiration) bought, only she found it a little short on her and handed it down to me. Any pieces I wear listed as "vintage" are from her glorious, mostly custom tailored wardrobe from her Shanghai days. Photobucket What I love most about this dress is that it's cut and color means that you can move straight from work to dinner without even changing the overcoat or the accessories and a quick dab of a more dramatic lipstick color.  As for tomorrow? Hint: Casual friday will involve dots. Lots and lots of dots.

  17. I read your Fight against Fashion Bullying story! I just wanted to tell you that I really admire you, and I can`t believe we are the same age! You seem so grown up :) My style is kind of different too, but I didn`t dare develope a style of my own before I was about 14-15 yrs I think :P I remember that I always thought if I had seen anybody in similar clothing, because I was too afraid to stand out.

What art school do (did?) you go to ^^? I love illustration myself, must be really exciting doing freelance jobs :D
